Tula'i: Our New Identity

Friday July 3rd 2026 was an evening of celebration, reflection, and hope as Tula'i welcomed alumni, families, schools, partners, funders, community leaders, and supporters to a milestone event marking the unveiling of our new visual identity and celebrating the journey that continues to shape Pacific leadership across our communities.

More than a logo launch, the evening was a celebration of the people, relationships, and shared purpose that have carried Tula'i from its beginnings to where it stands today.

The programme opened with a moving testimonial video, where alumni, parents, mentors, and staff reflected on the impact Tula'i has had on their lives and those they have worked with. Their stories highlighted the confidence gained, the relationships formed, and the sense of identity and belonging that continues long after completing the programme. Board Chair Sila Fagaesea reflected on the journey of Tula'i, acknowledging the many people whose dedication has helped build the organisation over the years.

"Tonight is a celebration of everyone who has contributed to the Tula'i journey. Our Board members, staff, volunteers, mentors, schools, families, funders, community partners, and most importantly our young people have all played a part in building something that is changing lives. The true legacy of Tula'i is found in the leaders who now serve their communities with confidence, humility, and purpose."

The evening also recognised those who laid the foundations for Tula'i, honouring the vision, commitment, and collective effort that has enabled generations of Pacific young people to flourish. We remembered that every milestone reached has been made possible through strong partnerships and a shared belief in the potential of our rangatahi.

General Manager Tanya Zombos then shared The Tula'i Legacy, casting a vision for the future of the organisation and reaffirming Tula'i's commitment to empowering Pacific young people through leadership, identity, wellbeing, and service.

"Our vision is to see young Pasifika become their best selves. Our hope is that we can continue to grow and expand the work that we do, working with young Pasifika from Intermediate age or even earlier, into young adulthood - at key transition points in their lives."

The highlight of the evening was having Kyani Utia, Designer, Masters Graduate, current Tula’i Mentor, and Tula’i alumni, talk to the process, purpose, and components of the new identity and the way in which it reflected who Tula’i is now. The new logo symbolises the organisation's continued growth, connection to culture, desire to champion young Pasifika to succeed, whilst recognising the larger ecosystem for young Pasifika to thrive. All of this, while remaining firmly anchored in the values that guide the organisation—love (Intergenerational Strength), humility (Leadership as Service), reciprocal relationships (Reciprocity), and respect (Collectivism).

While the visual identity has evolved, the mission remains unchanged: to empower Pasifika young people to lead with courage, purpose, and service.

The celebration concluded with fellowship, laughter, and meaningful conversations as guests reconnected, shared memories, and looked ahead to the future together. It was a powerful reminder that Tula'i has always been about more than programmes—it is about people, relationships, and a community committed to seeing Pacific young people thrive.

As we embark on this next voyage, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to every person and organisation who has walked alongside us. Your belief, encouragement, partnership, and investment continue to shape the lives of our young people and strengthen the communities we serve.

Together, we honour our journey.

Together, we shape our future.

Together, we continue to empower Pasifika to lead.
