Project Lead

Vanessa hails from the villages of Fasito'o Uta, Afega, Fagali'i and Iva (Savai'i) – Samoa; Sawakasa, Tailevu and Waiqori, Oneata – Viti. Vanessa serves as the Project Lead for the Inspiring Growth for Young Pasifika (IG) programme and the Malie Project, utilising her organisation skills and experience working with youth and young adults to bring operational and leadership support.

She is a passionate advocate for community wellbeing and youth empowerment, with a strong commitment to service, education holistic health and equity. Vanessa completed her Bachelor of Health - Health Promotion study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Prior to that she completed a Diploma in Christian Studies, Certificate in Health Sciences and a Certificate in Christian Ministry.

Vanessa's journey reflects a deep dedication to build connected and thriving communities and to support others through adversity. She brings warmth, insight, and a collaborative spirit when serving on team. Vanessa’s passion to see young Pasifika thrive and her ability to uplift those around her make her a valued member of the Tula’i team.
